Explorer | bug repellant

16.00

A natural mosquito and tick repellant that WORKS. After many experiments for herbs and natural ingredients that truly work, I have at last formulated a bug spray that is actually effective at repelling bugs AND is safe, and even nourishing. Using only the finest and purest ingredients and organic or wildcrafted herbs, this formula is not like any natural bug repellant you will find… unless you take the care to make it yourself.

4 oz

100% organic

INGREDIENTS:

WITCH HAZEL: True witch hazel extract has been double distilled, and contains 86% witch hazel extract and only 14% alcohol. This makes it more soothing than the version found in your local store, and lacks the alcohol sting and scent. Witch Hazel extract is distilled from the twigs and bark of the Witch Hazel tree (Hamamelis virginiana). Commercial Witch Hazel extracts usually contain more alcohol than actual witch hazel, and have only been distilled once. However, the organic Witch Hazel extract in Explorer is superior in both quality and potency. This witch hazel was used to extract and slow infuse the two following herbs.

YARROW: Yarrow is a beautiful and incredibly useful flowering plant that grows practically everywhere, and is a great natural insect repellent. After trying countless natural bug repellants, the plants that have soared above the rest in truly repelling mosquitoes and ticks are yarrow and catnip. If you find yarrow in the wild and bring the stalks home, you’ll notice the lack of insects on the plants. It truly is a natural insect repellent. Usually, after wildcrafting, I set the plants outside to de-bug, but you don’t have to do that with yarrow.

CATNIP: A perennial, herbaceous plant. Researchers report that nepetalactone, the essential oil in catnip that gives the plant its characteristic odor, is about ten times more effective at repelling mosquitoes than DEET — the compound used in most commercial insect repellents. The study specifically showed that catnip repelled the mosquito Aedes aegypti, which can carry the yellow fever virus, and all other types of mosquitos.
